As I wrapped up my playthrough of Vader Immortal\u2019s third and final episode, my reaction was \u201cHuh. So that\u2019s it?\u201d The novelty of a VR Star Wars experience had worn off a while ago, and Vader Immortal\u2019s threadbare mechanics had long since run out of steam, leaving only its mediocre plot. Maybe it\u2019s partially because I\u2019m fresh off the far superior storytelling of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but to put it mildly, this finale was underwhelming.<\/p>\n
Virtually nothing new is introduced during Episode 3\u2019s 45 short minutes as Vader Immortal\u2019s weirdly mystical, MacGuffin-based adventure resolves. If you\u2019re played Episodes 1<\/a> and 2, it goes pretty much exactly the way you probably expect. There was never anything even approaching a surprising development outside of its trite deus ex machina ending.
