Alas, for anyone hoping for something that takes place after the events set in motion in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 12 years ago, it sounds like this ain\u2019t it. With that said, they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2019\/11\/21\/20975423\/half-life-alyx-vr-price-release-date-screenshots-trailer-valve-steam\">told The Verge<\/a> in an interview that players <em>should<\/em> play through Episode 2 first\u2026 so Valve might have surprises in store there.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s built on the Source 2 engine, and will work on \u201call SteamVR compatible VR systems\u201d \u2014 so HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest when hooked to a PC, Windows Mixed Reality headset, or Valve\u2019s own Index VR headset.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s built to be played whether you want to move around your room, stand in one place or sit in a chair.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019ll cost $60, but be free for anyone who owns Valve\u2019s Index VR headset. Index owners will also get alternate in-game gun skins, and \u201cAlyx-themed content\u201d in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Valve also posted a trailer, showing everything from headcrabs to the Citadel from Alyx\u2019s first-person VR perspective\u2026 plus a special little cameo if you stick around to the end.
