Tyler “Ninja” Blevins said he wanted to “get back to his streaming roots” when he announced he was jumping from Amazon’s Twitch to Microsoft’s Mixer last week. Those roots are apparently sprouting the same rabid fanbase, as the esports star announced he’s already attracted 1 million subscribers on his new platform.

Blevin’s tweeted about the milestone on Tuesday, thanking his followers and saying he hasn’t felt this good in a long time. The Verge reported the news here.

Blevins, a “Fortnite” star, is one of the biggest names in gaming, and he was far and away the most-watched streamer on Twitch last year. He has 22 million subscribers on YouTube.

Blevins’ deal with Mixer, terms of which were not disclosed, comes with a limited-time free subscription to his streaming channel, which in addition to his immense popularity, is likely boosting the numbers in these early days.

The Mixer platform is much smaller than Twitch, which accounted for more than 70 percent of live-streaming video hours watched in the second quarter of this year, according to Tech Crunch. Mixer (3 percent) also competes with YouTube Live (19.5 percent) and Facebook Gaming (5.3 percent).
