Happy Holidays! As the year comes to a close, it\u2019s all about fun until everyone gets back down to business in January. Hope you have some time off to work on that Raspberry Pi project you\u2019ve been meaning to tackle or catch up on the recent video and board games, of which there are many. If you\u2019ve got kids, a great way to keep them occupied is to visit the Pacific Science Center. You can squeeze in some education along with the fun.<\/p>\n

If board games are something you or your family enjoys, you might want to check out\u00a0GeekGirlCon\u2019s board game night<\/a>. The Seattle-based convention hosts board game nights at Wayward Coffee House twice a month. You can bring your own games or learn to play some new ones with other geeks in a family-friendly inclusive environment. The next event is on December 28.<\/p>\n

After the new year rolls in, there are two pop culture conventions happening on the same weekend in Portland. The Heroes and Villains Fanfest<\/a> and Fandom PDX<\/a> are both scheduled for January 5 to 6. If you can make the trek down to Portland, both of these conventions are a place to celebrate fandoms of all types, including movies, tv, comic books, and games.<\/p>\n
