Two of the original creators behind hospital management sim Theme Hospital<\/em>, Gary Carr<\/strong> and Mark Webley<\/strong>, are working on a modern spiritual successor to that game. Named Two Point Hospital<\/em> (after their new company, Two Point Studios<\/strong>). The hospital sim aims to bring back the \u201chumor, charm and replayability\u201d of its inspiration.<\/p>\n

Sega is publishing Two Point Hospital<\/em>, which is bound for Windows PC<\/strong> via Steam<\/strong> later this\u00a0year.<\/p>\n

\u201cGary and I have been talking about this project for a number of years and are really excited to be announcing <\/em>Two Point Studios<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 first game,\u201d said <\/em>Mark Webley<\/em><\/strong>, co-founder of the studio, in a release. Co-founder <\/em>Gary Carr<\/em><\/strong> added: \u201cThe amazing team we have managed to bring together, and our partnership with <\/em>Sega<\/em><\/strong>, has really allowed this first part of our vision to finally come to fruition.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Carr<\/strong> and Webley<\/strong> worked together at British studio Bullfrog<\/strong> on titles like Theme Park<\/em> and Theme Hospital<\/em>. The pair later worked at Lionhead Studios<\/strong>, which Webley<\/strong> helped co-found, on Black and White<\/em> and\u00a0Fable<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t like to think of it as a spiritual successor to <\/em>Theme Hospital as such, we like to think of it as a thing in its own right?\u2014?something new and different. Thematically, of course, there are similarities, but we\u2019re making a completely new game. This isn\u2019t a reskinning of something we\u2019ve already\u00a0done.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThe values are the same, the humour is important. <\/em>Theme Hospital had its own quirky off-centre, offbeat take on the sim genre. It didn\u2019t take itself too seriously, but under the hood, there was actually quite a deep\u00a0sim.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Two Point<\/strong> says mod support is planned for Two Point Hospital<\/em> shortly after launch, and that online features will include competitive challenges. Two Point Hospital<\/em> is expected to be released on Steam <\/strong>in the fall of\u00a02018.<\/a><\/p>\n
