Can you tell us a little more about yourself?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Hello! My name is Romain, and I\u2019m 32 years old. I\u2019m the UX\/UI Designer at Dether. I have a rather atypical background. I did a lot of things before developing my skills in UX\/UI design. I have always been attracted to the idea of creating attractive visual content, so I\u2019ve had the opportunity to work on personal projects related to website design, graphic charters for associations, and promotional posters.<\/p>\n<p>I started by building up my knowledge professionally as a textile designer at a streetwear brand. This experience made a major impression on me. Every day demanded a dose of creativity. I was always looking for the t-shirt design that would strike our customers. I also had the opportunity to work in the visual universe of the music industry. I designed album covers, websites, and merchandise. I had the chance to meet a lot of artists with whom I was able to exchange and understand their\u00a0needs.<\/p>\n<p>I was then the design manager in a furniture company for almost two years. I was responsible for the creation of promotional catalogues for suppliers, so I managed two graphic designers in the catalogue creation. It was a founding experience experience in terms of creativity because it allowed me to become very rigorous and organized. Once you publish a catalog you don\u2019t have a second chance?\u2014?once it\u2019s gone\u2026 it\u2019s\u00a0gone.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What does the UX\/UI Designer position at Dether consist of in concrete\u00a0terms?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>My job is divided as\u00a0follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>50%<\/strong>: Pure\u00a0creation<\/li>\n<li><strong>25%<\/strong>: Contact with users and definition of\u00a0needs<\/li>\n<li><strong>25%<\/strong>: Interaction with developers, interface design and reflection on how to structure the\u00a0product<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Dether project is a fusion of my two areas of expertise because I have to constantly develop the product to make it as user-friendly and intuitive as possible, while respecting market constraints. So I first need to understand the expectations of users. To do this, I collect and analyse their precise feedback on the product beforehand, via workshops.<\/p>\n<figure><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.taterboy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/12A6OpaAYTPDxfHBgSzZaQOqg.jpeg?w=900\"><\/figure>\n<p>Then, I move on to the design and design part of the interface. This work is done in collaboration with the tech team, the sales team (to be sure to respect market constraints), and a graphic designer. We first make a very broad structure, which we then refine more and\u00a0more.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What do you like about your\u00a0job?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>COMPETITION<\/strong>! It brings out the best in ourselves. For example, I really appreciate the visual universe of Uport, or Status and many others! <br \/>I find that the projects in the blockchain ecosystem are very creatively and visually successful?\u2014?a force that allows us to reach a wider audience and contributes to the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<h4>What are the essential qualities to have in your profession?<\/h4>\n<p>I think the following few key words summarize the qualities needed to be a good full stack designer <strong>UX\/UI\u00a0Designer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adaptability<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Creativity<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Organisation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I think it\u2019s important to get involved in the design community. It\u2019s not enough to keep all of that knowledge to yourself. You learn better when you teach it to someone else or have a discussion about design topics. So I try\u00a0to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Attend meetups<\/li>\n<li>Speak at events\/conferences<\/li>\n<li>Converse\/debate about topics on the future of design and the tech\u00a0world<\/li>\n<li>Write articles<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.taterboy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/12Aqpcr5vsjd7a_YbL1BdidQw.jpeg?w=900\"><figcaption>Photo taken during my visit to the Majorelle Museum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In short, I enrich myself with everything that surrounds me to continue to keep a critical eye on my work. Besides, now that I\u2019ve decided to involve the Dether community, from now on, I would like to regularly share some creations and ideas with you, in order to to have your opinions?\u2014?because it\u2019s obvious that the first people who should be able to give their opinions is you\u00a0all!<\/p>\n<h4>Which are your favorite tools when you\u2019re working\/designing?<\/h4>\n<p>I still try to expand my toolset in order to become a powerhouse user in my favorite tools. I also still try to learn about new tools that I\u2019ve never used before. I love <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adobe.com\/fr\/products\/photoshop.html?promoid=PC1PQQ5T&#038;mv=other\">Adobe Creative Suite<\/a>, but if there is a tool that has been a real revelation to me it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sketchapp.com\/\">SKETCH<\/a>! It\u2019s a toolkit design with powerful plugins, such as C<a href=\"https:\/\/www.invisionapp.com\/craft\">raft<\/a>, Z<a href=\"https:\/\/zeplin.io\/\">eplin<\/a> etc\u2026 In short, this software covers all features on both Adobe and Illustrator! I quickly became competent in this tool for the Dether project, and today, I can\u2019t do without\u00a0it!<\/p>\n<h4>What about Hardware? What are you\u00a0using?<\/h4>\n<p>I\u2019m using:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/fr\/shop\/buy-mac\/macbook-pro\/15-pouces\">15-inch Macbook Pro\u00a02017<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wacom.com\/fr-ch\/products\/pen-tablets\/wacom-intuos-pro\">Wacom Intuos Pro\u00a0Tablet<\/a><\/li>\n<li>And several mobile phones with different OS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>What do you do in your free\u00a0time?<\/h4>\n<p>I do a lot of sports: soccer, running etc\u2026 I am very interested in everything related to the IoT.
