\u201cBaby garage\u201d?\u2014?my capstone project (specialty \u201cDesign of interaction\u201d)<\/p>\n

The mobile app \u201cBaby garage\u201d is useful for saving the budget of young families, reusing resources and helping the community. Parents can share clothes, toys and other children\u2019s things.<\/p>\n

The idea of ??creating an app for the exchange of children\u2019s goods didn\u2019t come to me immediately. I wanted to create something unusual and interesting. There were ideas for creating an app to optimize the operation of queues, an app for fighting spontaneous purchases, an app that controls the emotional state and protects against anxiety and asthenic disorders.<\/p>\n

But after communicating with friends, I was inspired by the ideas of bringing order in life (Thanks to Marie Kondo and her book \u201cThe Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up\u201d) and searching for re-use of resources. I have many friends who are the young mothers. And the eternal problem of young mothers?\u2014?they bought for her baby something but the baby grew up in a month. It is a pity to throw out the good thing and a new one is\u00a0needed.<\/p>\n

I studied apps for the exchange \/resale of children\u2019s things, but I did not find any specialized apps for residents of Russia. There are a lot of apps where you can give away\/ sell out anything. There are forums of mothers, but unfortunately the search for a specific thing is difficult, you just need to constantly monitor the new branches of the forum. I investigated the needs of Russians. And yes, I didn\u2019t manage to think globally.<\/p>\n

And so the main features of my\u00a0app:<\/p>\n

  2. Ease of tracking\u00a0updates<\/li>\n
  3. The ability to get rid of their\u00a0items.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    At first, I had the idea to make detailed profile where parents could specify the parameters of the children (size, height, chest girth). You don\u2019t need to adjust the filter every time and the search immediately follows the parameters of the child. But it also turned out to be uncomfortable, children grow fast. So I rejected this\u00a0idea.<\/em><\/p>\n

    I thought in the app people could sell things and donate part of the income to charity. But as the survey showed, many mothers didn\u2019t want to value things or doubt the correctness of the assessment. It is easier to give a thing without assigning a price to\u00a0it.<\/p>\n

    At the next step I rejected the menu hidden in a hamburger and placed all the functionality of the app in the bottom navigation bar. It is more convenient to use it when only one hand is\u00a0free.<\/p>\n

    The system of communication through messages, orders and cart also had to be removed. Busy mothers prefer to call. There is only wish-list there you can save things you wished and find the owner\u2019s phone\u00a0number.<\/em><\/p>\n

    I decided not to use geolocation or search within a radius of a certain number of kilometers, it\u2019s easier to link the profile to a certain\u00a0city.<\/p>\n

    I also conducted A \/ B testing to find out which icon is more preferable for a wishlist: a heart or an star. The study showed heart-icon is more preferable. Some people associate the star-icon with the\u00a0rating.<\/p>\n

    Here is the prototype of the app<\/a>. I didn\u2019t make the final design mockup, which could be given to work. But the users who tested my prototype noted the simplicity and transparency of navigation. And they said that they will use it as soon as I create\u00a0it)<\/p>\n

    Well, I couldn\u2019t create something innovative. I created a convenient prototype of the app that people would like to\u00a0use.<\/p>\n
