After stints with Electronic Arts, Microsoft and SEGA, Peter Moore has landed his\u00a0\u201cdream\u201d job \u2014 but not at a company you might expect.<\/p>\n

Moore, who spent nearly a decade at EA leading its sports unit and most recently its competitive gaming\u00a0division, will become CEO of Liverpool Football Club this June<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old is well known in the gaming industry, having helped\u00a0lead\u00a0Microsoft\u2019s Xbox team during the Xbox 360 launch and famously inking Xbox-related tattoos on himself<\/a>. He left the Redmond tech giant in 2007 for EA Sports and held\u00a0positions as chief operating officer and chief competition officer.<\/p>\n

But now he\u2019s headed across the pond to manage one of the world\u2019s top soccer clubs \u2014 one that Moore, who was born in Liverpool, \u201clives and dies for,\u201d according to his Twitter profile<\/a>. EA CEO Andrew Wilson penned a blog post<\/a> Monday congratulating Moore for \u201cfollowing his dream\u201d and lauding his contributions to EA.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeter has been with us here at EA for nearly 10 years, and I consider myself privileged to have had the opportunity to work alongside him for that entire journey,\u201d Moore wrote. \u201cIf you\u2019ve seen him on stage, or follow him on Twitter, or have ever read an interview with him, you will have a sense of Peter\u2019s wit and charisma.\u00a0 What you should also know is that he is an unbelievable teammate, a tireless leader for our people, and his deep appreciation for great games and the passionate players in our communities is unwavering.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
