Sketch Visual Design: UI Copy – Ironhack

After downloading the app of Sketch, and getting used to this platform, I had the challenge of copy the design of a Travel app. Ironhack gave me a couple of screenshots of the app, and I had to try to accomplish a perfect clone of these two screens.

In this first screenshot, you can compare the example and the copy of the very first step in the app, the log-in screen. The most challenging step in this screen was the creation of a perfect clone of the logo. I truly realice that with a circle, a triangle, a square and a line you can build any shape ever. Other difficult step was getting the perfect image of the background (regarding the color and effects), but thanks to the extension of “Colorzilla” it was super easy to guess the correct colors of each button.

In this second screenshot, I was lucky to find the same background picture, and this allowed me to be more precise in cloning this Itinerary Screen. Again, with the knowledges acquired in the last units, I was able to accomplish this step satisfactorily.

In this step it was super interesting how wonderful effects you can add to an app with the trick of masking pictures with different shapes.

In conclusion, this week I have discovered a revolutionary instrument for designing mockups (Sketch). The last two years I have been using Powerpoint to make all the mockups for Setafoot. But I realice how useful is this application for the UI and UX design. From now on, this app will save me a lot of time and efforts designing future mockups, and this will bring me too many different creativity options.

To sum up, I found this exercise super useful in order to get used to Sketch and to learn all the tools that this platform can bring to you.
