Product update — usability improvements for contractors

When we first build the Fibo app, we built it to look and feel like any other productivity app. We optimized for a clean layout, simple intuitive design, and organizing sections in a thoughtful way.
However, as we observed customer’s using the app in the field, we noticed several problems:
- Small text is hard to read in sunlight. We realized the need to make our designs bigger and bolder for contractors working outdoors.
- Some daily interactions (eg: clocking in at the start of the day) required multiple taps which was slow and wasteful. We noticed opportunities to simplify.
- Navigation required tapping on a “back” button which was far too small, making it easy to miss and frustrating users. We needed to make our tap targets bigger.
Today we’re launching a number of usability fixes, on both iOS and Android, to make Fibo much easier to use in the field.
- Bigger and bolder designs for usability in sunlight
- One tap interactions for core actions like clocking-in
- Larger tap targets for easier navigation between screens
We hope you will enjoy these updates. Got more ideas for usability improvements? We’d love to hear them.
Download the app (Fibo Compass on iOS and Android), and check out our bigger and bolder new design!
