Walmart denies report that it’s taking violent video games off shelves

PUBG Mobile Lite is a smaller game with big changes

PUBG Mobile, a spinoff of the popular PC and console game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is already the world’s highest-grossing mobile game. It earned $167M in July, according to mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower, and amassed more than 50 million daily players as of June. This new version will likely only increase PUBG Mobile’s already huge presence, especially when it becomes more widely available. Discord will soon offer game streaming, but it’s very different than Twitch

It will allow anybody with a PC to stream video of their game in any voice channel to up to 10 people at a time. Go Live is intended to give people the feeling of gaming in a living room with your friends, and it shows. It works based on Discord’s game detection, the same feature that shows your friends what you’re playing when you’re playing it. The feature will work in any server, although fully boosted servers will have options for higher-quality streams and so will anyone with Nitro. DayZ Refused Classification in Australia, Bohemia Looking at Solutions

Update: Bohemia Interactive has addressed the classification issue, assuring fans it is currently looking at ways to solve the problem. “We are aware of the Classification Board’s intention to pull DayZ from the online sales,” explained Bohemia in a statement provided to IGN. “The game was just removed from the PlayStation and Xbox stores. The reason behind the rejection to classify the game is the specifics of drug use in the game. For example we have morphine in the game. FIFA Volta Will Have No Microtransactions At Launch

FIFA Volta is one of the biggest additions coming to FIFA 20. And while it will come with a whole suite of vanity items to customize the look of your athlete, there will be no microtransactions in FIFA Volta – at least, at launch. “We’re not planning on launching with any ” says FIFA producer Jeff Antwi, “right now, anything that you earn is earned through in-game challenges.” You can unlock cosmetic items by completing objectives or by using Volta Coins that can oonly be earned by completing matches. The higher the difficulty of the challenge/match, the higher the rewards. FIFA Volta will have seasonal content with challenges and cosmetics changing on “roughly a month to month basis,” says Antwi, but for now there’s no season pass in sight. ESPN Delays Apex Legends Esports Broadcast Following Mass Shootings

ESPN has decided to delay a planned broadcast of an Apex Legends esports tournament following this month’s mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton. ESPN originally planned to broadcast a taped Apex Legends competition across various Disney-owned channels, including APC, ESPN2, and ESPNEWS. Those plans have seemingly changed following two mass shootings that occurred last weekend, 13-hours apart. Apex Legends is Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play, battle royale first-person shooter. Esports reporter Rod Breslau first published an internal memo sent to ABC Affiliates explaining that ABC will, “no longer air ‘EXP Invitational Apex Legends at X Games‘ on Sunday, August 11, 2019 in the 4:00 – 5:00 PM ET/3:00 -4:00 PM PT time period.” Bloomberg confirmed these plans with an anonymous, internal source.
