Your clients have contacted you to do this for them in order to maximize their results and, consequently, their profits. If money didn’t matter, they’d use a free website builder tool to throw something — anything — up there and you’d no longer be part of the equation. Money does matter, and if your clients don’t see a huge return on their investment in an app, it’s going to be quite difficult to sustain a business built around designing apps. Today, I’m going to talk about why app monetization needs to be one of the first things you think about before making Read the full article…

Nvidia G-Sync support for FreeSync monitors: better performance for less

Nvidia’s G-Sync variable refresh rate tech takes the leash off of your graphics card, letting it push as many frames per second as it possibly can, while eliminating input lag and visual artifacts (like motion blur and screen tearing) on your monitor. If you buy a monitor equipped with G-Sync, you can expect a smoother gaming experience with fluid animations. But such a monitor is costly, with a baseline price of around $350 for a 1080p display, and hundreds more for one that can output at 1440p or 4K. You can now make your Switch travel case cosplay as Mario

It looks like Cappy has made his way to Amazon because this Nintendo Switch travel case definitely looks like Mario’s soul is trapped inside of it. This bizarre case was brought to our attention by the Wario64 Twitter account, which regularly tweets out video game deals. It also comes in “Luigi,” but there are no Wario or Waluigi options yet, unfortunately. Looking through other Switch products on Amazon yields plenty of accessories that are decked out in Mario themes, like this skin and screen protector set: People really want their… Read the full article…

There’s always been a healthy market for design written by experts, and this isn’t likely to change any time soon. Clearly nobody can afford to print and distribute free physical books (with the exception of the excellent World Book Night movement). But in this age of tablets, smartphones and laptops the electronic book offers a fantastic, and very cheap, way to spread this content. If you are inspired by these ebooks, and in need of other incredible freebies to get your project started, check out our selections of the best free graphic design software and the best free fonts for designers.
